These are my two best friends! They are both serving missions on Temple Square. I miss them soooo much and I am somewhat jealous that they get to serve the Lord together! We got to see them a few months ago and they are such wonderful missionaries!

Halloween!
Date night!
Karl took me on a date to the BYU Christmas Concert! It was so fun to listen to the choirs and orchestra play Christmas music and it fun to get dressed up and go out for the night. I love it when he plans date night and I am so lucky to have a husband that takes me out once a week. While we were there, we ran into my old roommate Karli and her husband Garret. They switched their seats to sit by us and it was super fun!
Oh Christmas Tree!
We love having a Christmas tree! I have had a really hard time deciding how I wanted to decorate it. I feel like once you start buying ornaments, you have to stick with that theme for a long time. We love it, despite its simplicity. We haven't found a star for the top yet that we like though! We have looked everywhere! Apparently no one puts stars on their trees anymore. Any ideas?

Borrowing from Bon Jovi
Seems as though Bon Jovi has the perfect words to explain my life right now
Some days are absolute bliss, dont get me wrong. However, other days I feel as though I am barely getting by. Thank goodness for the best husband in the world who puts up with all my craziness.
Things I have learned in the last few weeks
1. Being an adult is not always so fun.
2. Patience.
3. Sometimes people make bad choices. We have to stand up against the actions. This doesn't mean we judge the person.
4. Life is hard, but there are a lot of people that are rooting for me.
5. I am so so so ready to graduate. April can not come soon enough.
I was looking at a friend's facebook the other day and he has a quote on it from his mother that recently passed away from cancer.
"You could give too little, or give too much, but in the day of judgment, on which side would you rather have erred?"
Maybe I should change my priorities.
We gotta hold on to what we've got
It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We got each other and that's a lot
For love we'll give it a shot!
Oh, we're half way there
Oh oh, livin' on a prayer
Take my hand, we'll make it I swear
Oh oh, livin' on a prayer
Livin' on a prayer!
We gotta hold on ready or not
You live for the fight when it's all that you've got

The Big 2-1!
So when we were dating, Karl made me a really good cake, but the only food coloring we had for the frosting was "pepto bismol" pink. Now I am afraid it has become tradition and I will have a bright pink cake every year. It sure was tasty.
Disneyland!!!
Over the fourth we went to Disneyland with my family and got to see my brother for the first time since he got home from his mission. It was really good to get away from work, but it did not end up being a relaxing vacation. But we had a blast!!!
Check out my high score for the ride at Disneyland that day. #6 baby! It really was enough that I beat my husband and my brothers who all play video games on a regular basis. I think they were all in shock.
Is anyone else scared that Derek just got his permit?
Karl was really excited because he got to meet C3PO. His childhood dreams came true!

Buzz Lightyear Ride
So we are on our way back from a trip to disneyland with the fam. Here is a little preview to how the week went...
I was pretty proud of myself for getting the number 6 high score for the day at Disneyland. It takes skill even if the ride happened to break down twice...

Stress
Stress = Working a new job without being trained + Car Accident + Trying to sell our apartment Contract + A nightmarish independent Study Class.
Despite all this, we have been having an awesome summer. We have really seen the Lord's hand helping us as we are trying to get through all this, and hopefully things will start calming down soon. It has been a blessing (as trials usually are once they are over) to really recognize all of our blessings. We have been talking about how important it is to focus on the big picture and remember why we are doing the day to day things like going to work that seem to be more of a hardship (for both of us) than they should be. Its been really good to have eachother, and we have been really working on maintaining a positive attitude and being grateful for all the many things that we have been given. Plus, we have a lot of things to look forward to! My parents are currently in Japan picking Greg up and we will be headed to California to see him a week from Saturday. Wahoo!

Friday Favorites!
1. The bees are gone! It was such a relief that the apartment manager took care of it without us having to push very hard. I was starting to think that it was going to be a nightmare, but it went really well actually. We haven't seen a bee since we got back from Boise.
2. We had a great weekend with Karl's family last weekend. It included some great shopping, a great game of golf ( which I have missed terribly since playing every day in high school) and great food. Its so nice to get out of Provo and have somewhere fun to go.
3. Our couch finally gets delivered tomorrow. We bought it 3 weeks ago and we are so excited to finally have it! It is full size as well, which will be a nice change from our crummy love seats.
4. We have great jobs that allow us to save for couches. And furniture stores that have great sales so we can get a brand new couch for 400 bucks!
5. Kelsey, Kia and Lauren will be in Utah so I finally get to meet Kia and Lauren! We are going to have a BBQ and have tons of fun!
6. We are going to a baseball game for our date tomorrow. I am not a huge fan of baseball, but Karl loves it and it brings back memories of our first date. And I think we will splurge and get some food at the game this time.
7. Greg gets home at the end of the month. 25 more days! I can't wait to talk to him and then see him a week after that.
8. My really good friend Kelsey just went into the MTC and I love reading her emails and letters! She is going to be such a great missionary!
9. I have made a goal to read something out of the ensign every night before going to sleep. It is a great way to end the day and I am really loving adding another dimension of scripture study.
10. Being productive. I feel like I have gotten a lot done the last few days and it is nice that the apartment has been clean consistently and I am crossing things off my list.
11. Karl offered to take me shoe shopping and I declined. That is huge self control for anyone that knows me well.

BEES!

Karl and I came home to a nice little surprise last night. About 15 new 'friends'. At first, we had no bug spray, so we resorted to using bathroom cleaner to kill them. After about the 5th one, I knew we needed something a little more heavy duty so I went to the store and got some wasp killer. After about 15, we decided that we would get absolutely no sleep if we stayed where we were because there were so many of them, so we headed to Karl's Aunt and Uncle for the night.
Upon returning this morning, in the few hours I have been home I have killed at least 15 more bees. I am planning on keeping count but I am starting to feel like a bee serial killer. While cleaning them up, another one decided to fly down my shirt and sting me. Any good suggestions on how to treat a bee sting? I forgot how much it hurts and I cant say I was a fan of pulling the stinger out.
Hopefully the apartment manager does something about it, we have called him a couple times and he doesnt seem to think its much of an issue. I have a big red spot in an interesting area to prove him wrong. I think we will move as soon as we can.

Good News!
So the last few months I have been having really bad stomach pains, and because of my past history with ulcers, the doctor diagnosed it as an ulcer. Because the pain was not getting better after months of treatment, they got concerned and did a scope to see what was up.
It turns out that I actually have a hiatal hernia. This means that my stomach protrudes up through my diaphragm and into my esophagus.
This is really good news compared to an ulcer that would not heal. It is not life threatening. The only bad news is that doctors do absolutely nothing to treat it. The only way to control the symptoms is to control your diet. This mean no more acidic foods, like citrus or tomato. Luckily, if I eat any of this, the worst that can happen is some stomach pain, so its not anything really serious. The other nice thing about this diagnoses is that I have been able to go off the huge amounts of medications that I have been on for the ulcer. That has helped me feel better already.
Not to be cheesy, but I have to say I have a wonderful husband that has been supportive of me through all of this. He has dealt with a lot with me feeling so crummy, and was there for me with the pains of a scope (they are terrible and I dont wish them upon anyone). He has been helping me around the apartment and bringing me flowers when I am not feeling well. I am a lucky one for sure!

Entreprenuership Class = Adorable Thank You Cards
So this semester I have been in a class where we have to start our own business and make $1500. We started with wedding invitations and then moved on to first aid kits. Now we have $450 to go and we are selling adorable thank you cards so that we can hopefully pass the class(if we dont make the money we dont pass). Take a look!

Today is a Great Day!
So 2 posts in 1 day is huge, but I am procrastinating some papers I need to write. Here's a list of why today was not like most Mondays.
1. I got a lot done at work despite the technical issues
2. Class was good
3. I came home and my mom had sent a wonderful Easter package. Homemade jam, adorable Easter decorations, and some mail. My mom is the best!
4. I came home to really good strawberries as a snack. I ate a lot. But since it was fruit I don't feel guilty.
5. One of my professors pushed back the deadline for one of my four papers due weds. And I finished one today. Hopefully I will finish another one. Wahoo!
6. I am going to take a nap even though I dont have time to take a nap.

New Hair!
The computer program I use at work just crashed so I thought I would add some pictures really quick.
I have been wanting to get my hair cut ever since the wedding and I finally convinced Karl to let me do it this weekend. When I see the picture of the amount of hair that they cut off it makes me want to cry. But I love the cut, so I am okay!
Here's the new look. Excuse my lack of make-up. I did not get ready on Saturday.
I love it! And it has really cut down the amount of time it take me to get ready and the amount of shampoo I use. Its growing on Karl, but I think he misses my long hair. He may like it more when he realizes how much less hair there will be in the car and all around the apartment.

Friday Favorites

1. Looking at wedding/honeymoon pictures when I am bored at work.
3. We are FINALLY buying a vacuum tonight.
4. We are going on a double date with some friends in our ward tomorrow. Yay for friends! We are really excited but have yet to come up with an awesome plan.
5. Now that my foot is better I am happy to say that I am feeling better than I have in over a year! I can eat anything (although I still watch the portion size) and that makes me happy!
6.I had two huge papers due this week and I finished them 3 days early!
7. The entrepreneurship class I have been taking hasn't been going so well, but we decided on a new product. Let me know if you want a first aid kit! I need to sell a whole bunch before the end of the semester!
8. The neighbors moved out and I saw the inside of that apartment. Our carpet and walls are surprisingly way better than theirs, so I am grateful. Also, we found out we have the only apartment with a garbage disposal. YAY!
9. Karl and I went to In n Out for dinner yesterday. It was sooo good and we didnt have to wait very long. I have a feeling we will be going back soon.

Valentines Day Weekend
This valentine's day weekend was great. It was really nice to have a long weekend so that we could just relax. I didn't want to do anything crazy because we have been so busy with school and work and such. So friday night we watched the Olympic opening ceremonies and had Little Ceasar's pizza and breadsticks because I was too lazy to make anything for dinner and it sounded really good. Saturday, Karl went to take a test and I did some shopping. When I got home, I was really tired so I took a nap and woke up to Karl surprising me with some beautiful gerber daisies! YAY! We pretty much just relaxed all day, doing a little homework and then watching the Olympics. That night we had Italian Pork Chops (the best recipe ever from the best roommate ever, Kelsey) and had sparkling apple cider. YUM! We also made heart shaped sugar cookies ( though I realized that I didnt have a lot of the things we needed so we went on a bed bath and beyond shopping spree). YAY for giftcards! Monday night we had FHE with one of my old roommates and he husband and it was really fun. We ate fajitas and played phase 10, which I won. I got really excited about that because I never win that game.
On tuesday we were forced back into reality. We went off to work and I had to take a midterm for one of my classes. We are both really grateful for the opportunity to be going to school and to be working, but sometimes I want to just have a break. I feel so busy all the time and never really know how we are going to get everything done. Somehow it always does get done, and we are sure grateful for that.
My next task is to get some pictures taken of the apartment and post them. Hopefully I can get that done soon, sorry mom!

New Jobs!!!
So after a long, horrible process of applying for a ton of jobs, Karl and I both got jobs this week! Yay, its a huge relief to know that we will have some money going into the bank. Karl is working for a company called DBO. They are a small company that buys foreclosed homes and then sells them back. He is working as a purchasing agent, so he will be buying the homes. He really likes it and says that he feels like a real professional. I am working for the BYU comprehensive clinic. They are starting a new project that I am essentially in charge of. I will be creating the training programs for the student employees as well as the graduate students that work in the Therapy department at BYU. I will be using a program called Adobe Captivate that I have experience in when I had an internship for. We both got really lucky and we are THRILLED!

St. George
This last weekend Karl and I went down to visit my grandparents in St. George. It was great to get out of Provo and spend some time with family. We really missed them at the wedding so it was good for us to go down so they could get to know Karl a little better. I made a batch of cinnamon rolls and they were great, though I have learned that they will never quite measure up to my mother in law's (though I agree, hers are amazing). We also got to take a drive through Zion's National Park. It was Karl's first time, and it was absolutely beautiful. We just wish we could have done a little hiking, but it was still great. We had an awesome time enjoying family and staying warm ( probably a little warmer than we would have liked).
We are staying busy with classes and I am just so thrilled with how much better my classes are this semester. They are still challenging, but I feel like I am doing the right thing and I that I am able to see the results of how much hard work I am putting in. One assignment for one of my classes was to create a family mission statement and it was great to think about what we want to have as a family. Here is what I have come up with
The Yorgason Family
Established 2009
As an eternal family we plan to:
Have regular scripture study
Have daily family prayer
Have weekly Family Home Evening
Attend the Temple Regularly
Have a financially stable home
Serve one another and our communities
Have fun together and love unconditionally
Through these things we will hope to create a gospel centered home that will encourage members of the family as well as those around us to progress towards Celestial Glory.

such a crazy life
The last week has been pretty crazy but we have been getting a lot done. We are pretty much settled into our apartment but we really need to find a dresser, currently we have no where to store socks and pjs and such. The apartment is great, we love having two bedrooms to store our extra stuff. the outside and the neighbors have been quite interesting. Almost no one speaks english and there is a tamale that has been on the stairs ever since we have been here. I am tempted to clean it up myself so I dont have to look at it anymore. But we have a great apartment for a great price so I cant complain.
We have been looking for jobs like crazy. I have applied for over 30 and I think Karl is close to that, so far I have a tentative interview scheduled for next week, lets hope it goes well. We really need to find jobs. In other news, we got health insurance today! Yay! I am so excited to not worry about that anymore, it was starting to make me really nervous. If the job goes through, a lot of stress will be relieved.
We are both blessed to be loving our classes. It is so refreshing for me to be studying something that I enjoy and that I am liking all of my classes. Its great. I am also learning a lot about Geography from Karl.
We are so excited to be in this stage of our lives and we are loving every minute of it. Its more than either of us ever imagined! We are hoping to take a trip down to St. George this weekend to visit my grandparents!

The beginnings of married life
So I will write a post about the wedding once we get pictures from the photographer. But the time since the wedding has been absolutely fantastic. Karl surprised me and took me on a honeymoon in Carmel. It was absolutely beautiful and we loved it but we felt a little out of place. There were a lot of extremely wealthy people there, including the woman who told the waiter all about her mink fur-lined coat. Karl's favorite part of the honeymoon was when we got to feed the sting rays at the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. It was really fun, they just vacuum the food right out of your hands. We headed home on Christmas Eve and spent the holiday with my family. My brothers love having a new brother to play video games with and hang out with. I am so glad that Karl fits into the family so well. I found it hilarious how what we like for Christmas changes so much when we are married. Before I got excited about new clothes and now we are excited about a Costco card and the GPS that we got, as well as the hammer and dishcloths we got from his parents. I feel very old to love these gifts so much. After Christmas, we headed up to Boise for the Open House. One of the things I have been so grateful for is how well the families have gotten along. I am grateful for my family as well as the family I have gained through marriage. We are truely blessed. I am so excited to gain new sisters ( I have never had one!), brothers, parents, neices and nephews. Its been great to get to know everyone, even though I wish we had more time with them.
We have been so overwhelmed by all of the love and support that we have felt throughout this process. People have sacrificed so much to make our wedding so great. I was very touched by a woman in our ward who is very sick with cancer but was there working harder than so many others the whole day. She helped with the food at the luncheon and the recpetion. Her selflessness and service have been such an inspiration to me. I have learned that there is never an excuse to not help others and have a positive attitude. I am sure there are a million other people who were the same way but I am so grateful for everyone who supported me. I have an amazing aunt that 24/7 for days to make the most amazing flowers. I have great in-laws who came early to be with me while I recieved my endowments. I have a many great cousins who all supported me, but especially the ones who had a mini-bachlorette party with me at the nail salon and kept me calm the night before the wedding as well as the day of, helping me put my dress on before the reception and take it off after. I also have awesome bridesmaids and family and friends that supported me on the most important day of my life. Thank you so much!
